Local Spins Fest returns for the third year to Studio Park to kick off the summer festival season -- and this time, it’s all about emerging Michigan stars and spotlighting youth bands.

Local Spins, Michigan’s No. 1 music website, will present headlining sets by attention-getting soulful rock band Nathan Walton & The Remedy and multi-genre all-star group the Elijah Russ Collective. Local Spins Fest 2024 also will feature the young, uber-talented and award-winning funk-rock outfit Short Panic, a band that already has generated a buzz with its debut album and live shows.

In keeping with The Future of Michigan Music theme and to showcase the next generation of regional musicians, Local Spins Fest will kick off on May 18 with sets by teen bands Hangman (Red Rose Music Lab) and Ocean & The Hand Me Downs. In addition, Studio Park’s big video screen will present videos of performances by other West Michigan school of rock and music academy bands in between sets. Representatives from some local academies will be on hand to provide information to interested attendees.

General admission is just $10. For $25, VIP ticket holders will receive premium festival seating, an official Local Spins Fest poster and Local Spins sunglasses. $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to Access of West Michigan in support of its anti-poverty programs and food pantry network.

Local Spins Fest: 4 p.m.-8:30 p.m. May 18; gates open at 3 p.m
